Mississippi Gulf Fishing Banks, Inc.

Activity Report for the Period
September 13 - October 10, 2002

Summary
During this period, there were 4 rubble deployments from the seaway staging site to FH-2, 11, 13, and 10 which occurred on September 17, 18, 19, and 29 respectively. A Dive Trip was made with MS Outdoors to the Von Rosenberg in FH-7 on September 28, but it was fruitless due to zero visibility.

Seaway Clearing Project
An effort to clear out the seaway staging property of concrete rubble which began last month continued. Inshore deployments were conducted by Vice Construction, while offshore deployments were conducted by a joint effort between Colle Towing and Vice Construction. Colle provided Barge and Tug services, while Vice provided loading and offloading services. PRIMOFISH.COM provided spotter boat operations. Efforts started around the clock on September 17, but were cut short by Hurricanes Isidore and Lili.

On September 17, rubble 279F2 was placed in the southwest end of FH-2 about 300 meters east of the Corps Barge. On September 18, rubble 280F11 was placed in the southeast end of FH-11. On September 19, rubble 281F13 was intended to go to FH-2, but was diverted to FH-13. The Tug "Jim Colle" had lost one engine and moderate seas had forced her to the east. Rather than prolong the project it was decided to deploy the material at the north end of FH-13. The tug captain had trouble holding the barge in position and ended up circling the deployment marker buoy as the material was deployed. On September 29, rubble 282F10 was placed on FH-10, the Horn Island Middle Ground Site, inside Horn Island. Coordinates for all these deployments are detailed below.
